My Journey:
I graduated from high school in the Spring of 2012, eager to begin developing my professional skills, and be a part of something bigger. My initial interests lead me to pursue an education in electrical engineering, but I eventually gravitated toward computer science and philosophy very quickly. After my Fall 2014 semester, I was found myself taking a financially motivated break from school, and entered the labor force. I worked for a quick-lube service center to make ends meet while I reevaluated my options. While changing oil, I learned important teamwork and leadership skills, how to overcome unexpected obstacles, and developed my people skills.

By the Fall of 2018, I was able to realize my goals of returning to school, and study majors that I enjoyed and excelled in. For the next three years, I strove for excellence in computer science and philosophy, taking courses to challenge the analytical and creative parts of my mind, even winning an award in my senior year for philosophy. Machine learning was a core focus during my undergraduate career. As graduation approached, COVID struck, drastically changing the job market. Taking the opportunity to further develop my skills, I stayed in school, studying human computer interaction. I used the program to develop my knowledge in usability and security. With a deep core knowledge of CS, and useful specialties, I am excited to be on a career path that will help me grow and test my abilities.
For Fun:

When I'm not working, I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies. To keep my mind and my skills sharp, I enjoy engaging in programming and capture-the-flag challenges. Recently, I have been building out my home lab, with both physical and virtual infrastructure. I've even managed to teach myself lock-sport techniques, having gathered quite the collection of locks and tools. Outside of the professional realm, I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, and have studied multiple martial arts. I have been known to participate in various full-contact, reenactment combat sports, and enjoy head-to-head or co-op tabletop and computer games. When it's time to sit back and relax, I enjoy many different shows, anything from comedy, to science fiction, fantasy, documentary, and more.
